Working with fresh products in stop motion always requires a thoughtful schedule.

It is very important to divide the image in layers in order to make the products look as fresh as possible. Furthermore the fact that we were working with children and that the frames of the left and the right side together formed the last image of the commercial, added to the complexity of these commercials. Also, the customer was extremely critical of how his product looked in frame. Product by Pedri Animation

1 In this sequence one can see clearly how the image is built layer by layer. 2 Also the shadows are created separately. 1-4 The animator helps the actors to carry out their movements frame by frame.
1 After compositing all the layers, the left side of the image is ready. 2 The right side of the image is built in the same way. 1 The left and the right side are merged together. 2 One can see clearly that in a way left and right are each other’s reflection. 3 When the two halves slide towards each other a product is formed that connects seamlessly.
11 In the video one can also see that the shadows of left and right side are turning into each other and that in the end frame they form a whole in the same direction.

1 In this sequence of 5 different commercials for Albert Heijn every animation shot needs

some postproduction, from cleaning the rigging up to the compositing of several layers.

1-3 1 In this animation we used real fire. By shooting with two timelines we could add the fire in postprocuction and gratefully use its flickering.
1-3 We did the same with the blowing out of the match. By making enough take’s we could use real smoke in the edit and the compositing. The movements of the eye and the mouth weere added in postproduction.

NTR asked us to create a funny children series that was easy to realize. Short items in which daily life was explained.

By combining a character with 2D printed set pieces we could easily and quickly adjust the set.

1-2 By using 2D animation for explaining several items in the series it was important to plan the neccessary artwork. 3-4 Items in 2D would come back in the stopmotion animation to obtain recognizability and connection between both techniques of animation. 1 Characters were built in such a way that only by changing their costumes and their hair new characters arise. 2 2D effects were also applied in stop motion. 4 Later camera motions were added digitally.
KLM-USP

For KLM we had to translate a series of unique selling points into images. These images were released in different languages and on different platforms, so in the end we delivered around 240 different versions.

Each version needed a good planning beforehand to achieve the desired result in the postproduction.

1-4 In order to be able to clean all the rigging afterwards we needed several take’s. 1-4 From some of the takes we only used parts to build up the image further.
1-4 With every run in the foreground objects are added. 1-4 The complete image looked like a tangle of wires and rigging.
1 The final step is the color correction. The last image of the shoot forms in the shape of a heart.
